Jobs Cancelled due to Job Engine Service Stopping

I need a solution

I'm constantly having issues with jobs stopping, being queued and the disk media going offline.  I am backing up to disk, and so far whenever I have a scheduled job I keep getting the error: 

The job was canceled because the response to a media request alert was Cancel, or because the alert was configured to automatically respond with Cancel, or because the Backup Exec Job Engine service was stopped.

V-79-57344-33039 - Error - Mount failed.
User canceled a Physical Volume Library operation.

However, when I re-enable the disk media and run the job manually, it works.  What's going on?

Dear Team,

My symantec backup exec job rated was slown down to 20 MB/min where as it was 780 MB/min it take 40 to 80 hours unbeliviable

i have having exchange server 2010 in DAG envirnoment with 5 databases.

how can i finetune job rate please help....

Create a contingency site with Symantec BackupExec and VMWare

Hello to all!
I need create a Contingency Site for a VMWare 5.1 primary datacenter.
I though of a secondary VMWare host in the contingency site and make replication between both sites with VMWare vSphere Replication.
Also I though of put a BackupExec server in the contingency site. It'll make backups from the VMWare secondary server (in the contigency site).
I have some question:
    - It is mandatory to make recovery of a Virtual Machine before to do a backup of it, or I can backup it from the VMWare recoveries files?
    - If  is mandatory to make recovery of a Virtual Machine before to do a backup of it, Can I automatizate the recovery task of VMWare? (for example: by pre task script)

Anybody done it before?
Anybody have some document that explaining how to make a backup from the secondary VMWare host?

Need some help on what is causing our snapshot issues on three different clients. Any help is much appreciated.

Environment:

Windows Server 2008R2 Master/Media Server (NetBackup 7.5.0.6)

NetBackup 5220 Appliance (Media Server 7.5.0.6 firmware 2.5.3)

Backup 2012 SP3 will not backup user created SQL databases

Backup server -  Windows Server 08 R2 Enteprise / Backup Exec 2012 SP3

SQL Server -  Windows Server 08 R2 Standard / SQL Server 2008 R2 Enteprise

 

Good morning all,

 

I am having an issue with my backup of user created SQL Databases.  I have been working with Support trying to get this fixed, but now I am reaching out further since I still have no solution 3 months later.  Backup Exec will backup the system databases, but any database that we create are being skipped.   The exact error message is

V-79-57344-5891 - The object was not found, or could not be accessed (MS SQL backup).

 

It will do this for all 98 of our created databases.  I have googled the error and tried everything suggested, but nothing yet has worked.  What I can't figure out is how it worked flawlessly for 5 months, and then decided to stop working.  All my other servers are being backed up without issue.  SQL is the only one that is having issues.  Any help and thoughts are greatly appreciated.

BackupExec 2012 SP 3 Job List Display

Hello,

I just joined an enviroment running BackupExec 2012 SP 3 and am trying to geet fimilar with the product, we are backing up to disk and with all of our backups we do the verify as a seperate job. 

My biggest issue with this is that even if the job is active I cannot see it active in the jobs list unless I expland the tree of a job because the main status is showing as "linked". Is there any way to get it to display the active job at the top of the tree instead of showing that it is a linked job?

BUEXEC 2012 Servers View - Ready No Idle Devices (not easily viewable)

Is there any way from the Server View I can see which JObs are in a state od "Ready no idle Devices".

It is very annoying to not be able to se backups in this state as every thing looks happy from the "Servers" view. When actuall a bunch of jobs are being held up (or about to time out)

Failed to copy to the desktop user data folder - ID backup doesn't exist

I need a solution

Hi,

we have a notebook (winXp SP3) with DLO 7.5 SP1 installed.

It always returns error "Failed to copy to the desktop user data folder. Error: Backup ID doesn't exist" when it tries to backup the same file (*.xlsx).

DLO works fine on the other clients (same profile)

How can i solve this issue?

SQL Restore Failed

I need a solution

I'm trying to restore the Database, which is around 60 GB. The job gets failed with "Socket read Failed"

Error bpbrm(pid=5016) socket read failed, An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.  (10054).

And I have done the below work wround, but still same issue.

1. The value of MAXTRANSFERSIZE was set to 0 from 6.
 
2. The Value of NUMBUFS to 1 from 2.
 
3. The client read time out of media server is increased.

What are the pros/cons with migrating our current Netbackup 7.1 server (running on Windows 2008 R2) to new server hardware running 7.6 (on Windows 2012)? Should I upgrade 7.1 on the current hardware first and then migrate?

I ahve a  Master server running as a cluster on 7.5.0.6.  I have opened case for a RMAN backup failure , while uploading the logs from the master server. How can i make  bprd to start writing to the new log file.

I have created flash backup user scripts for 12 servers. out of that 6 server's scripts are having issue. I unable to get any error msg .

I need your help.

Scripts are as follows.

Gurus!!

I am at a loss and am very frustrated by the error 156 for VMs. It is a very general error. I would like to get a better understanding of this error so that i can trouble shoot in a systematic manner. One of my VMs failed in their Daily Differetial Backup. I cannot even restart them manually. Attached are the details log of the machine. I ran the maual differential twice one after the other. I have highlighted the entry that troubles me.. In both entries it is looking for a file and not finding it. Why is it looking for different files for each backup? I looked at the location on the master/media server (both are the same) and neither file is there. I very frequently get this error and it clears up after a couple of days. I have also tried to run a full backup in the hope that the file would be created but it still fails. What is the most common reason for this behaviour?
