Exchange server - full system backup

Hello Everyone,

We're in the process of standing up Backup Exec 2014 (came from 2010) and a couple of questions have come up in regards to backing up an exchange server (currently running 2010).

We understand that we can use the agent to backup the mailbox stores but we're concerned about the full system backup. In the past many have always said that when performing a full system backup, be sure to not select the exchange database files for fear that the backup may lock the files and corrupt the database. Does anyone have any expierience of knowledge of such a thing occuring? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
