I get:
V-79-57344-38726 - Backup Exec was unable to connect to virtual machine 'DEV 2003 R2 32bit' and was unable to collect the necessary metadata to restore individual application items. You cannot perform GRT-enabled restores of application data from this backup. You must install the Agent for Windows and the virtual machine tools provided by your host software on the virtual machine.
This is on a Win2008r2 EE 64bit Media Server, also running Hyper-V services.
The error occurs when trying to backup a Win2003r2 32bit VM hosted on the same computer.
The VM has the correct Remote installed and running.
The VM has an established trust in BE2014.
The VM has been re-added in BE2014 via the Backup/Add.
The backup job, is a backup of the host server, and includes the VM.
The test backup is successful.
The VM's WMI security settings have had Remote access Enable'd, and a firewall rule added, as per http://www.poweradmin.com/help/enablewmi.aspx (Something I always had to do with BE 2010)
The VM previously backed up successfully from BE2010SP3+all Hot fixes, from the same Media Server and Hyper-V host, before I upgraded to BE2014
Is there an issue with GRT backing up of Win2003 VM's?
Or can anyone give me something more to look for in the configuration of my setup?
