HBA configuration is not saved after appliance reboot

Hi Support,
Please I need a solution on how I can make my hba cards configuration persistant upon appliance reboot.
I notice each time I reboot the appliance, all the hba cards return to the default mode, which is "initiator", whereas some were configured as "target" I have outline the steps I use to configure my hba cards below in case of any mistake.
Ojapp5230-02:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd # nbftsrv_config -nbhba (install hba driver)
Ojapp5230-02:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd # ./nbhba -L (all defaults to "initiator")

NB: After reboot, I notice all the hba cards defaults to "initiator" and none is "target", please is there any way around these, because there will always be a reboot of the appliance during maintenance.

Full Domain Controller recovery - BE 2014
I need a solution
All,
I'm trying to get to the bottom of the process being recovering an AD controller to new hardware when no other AD controller is present. In my test environment, I have managed to recover the Backup Exec Media Server and have placed it in a workgroup as the domain is of course not available. Looking at the documentation, I have setup the new server which will be the new AD Server and also just left it in a workgroup. I'm now trying to work out the recommended way to recover the AD Environment. So far I'm not having any luck changing the target to a different server.
I've been advised that I cannot do this recovery using Simple Disaster Recovery which is fine but I do need to know how to do this. I was thinking that the domain should be setup as a clean domain and then restore the system state and do an authoratitave restore but the Admin Guide for backup exec does not suggest this.
Has anyone managed to do this and if so, could you point me in the right direction?

Duplicate to Data Centre
I need a solution
Hi,
We currently have one Backup Exec 2012 Server which runs backup jobs, dedups them and then duplicates to tape. The company want further protection by duplicating the jobs to a Data Centre and I have been asked to look into this. The last time I used backup exec was when I passed my STS exam two years ago and have since lost my access to the training material to review so I would be very grateful for any help I can get.
I'm assuming it's not as easy as just creating an additional duplicate task to the Data Centre storage (if we get a VPN up and running) as the storage would look like it's a disk within the site? I would guess that I have to purchase further licenses and have a VM backup exec server running in the DC. I've found a PDF on BE private cloud services but am still a bit confused.

Kindly advise us , our customer will implement Hyper-v High Availability so he will need Storage for this ,in the other hand he will use Backup Exec as Backup Solution .
We asked if he can replace the original Storage (HP storage ) with Symantec Appliance or not , and this will be good solution or not.

NBU VSS not truncating Exchange 2010 SP1 Transaction Logs

I've got a VM and Application backup of Exchange following every guideline in the world, all available support articles, all rights are set OK, All config looks fine. Backup and restore works like a charm, Full VM's, Files, Databases and single mail items can be restored from one single vmdk backup. All windows eventlogs are fine (master, media, exchange, cas, clients). Everything looks swell, grand, perfect. No error messages anywhere. But no truncate. Take a look at the bpfis INF (information) entry:
But... I've still got a problem, here's the only evidence I've found is from the BPFIS log on the Exchange Client being backed up: "INF - INF - Exchange Transaction Logs will not be truncated by VSS because this is a pre-VM type backup"
Pre-VM type backup = what is that ? What does it actually refer to? Is my VM's or my policy wrongly configured?
A normal GRT backup via the net/client works fine and clears the transaction logs, but I was hoping to do a vmware backup, with transport type = SAN :-)
Anyone with any idea? Anything is appreciated :-)

Tenho um CASO que gerencia 3 midia servers, todos com Backup Exec 2014 sobre Windows Server 2012 R2, todos os midia servers tem tape libraries conectados via fibra.
Estou com a seguinte dúvida:
Como fazer um restore de um job que foi executado no midia server #1 (Que está desligado) em outro midia server sem ser necessário recatalogar as fitas.
É possivel fazer alguma configuração ou nova topologia que torne esse caso mais facil de ser tratado?

Full Database Backup Issue
I need a solution
I am facing backup issues in my environment.
OS - Windows Server 2008 R2
SQL - SQL Server 2008 R2
Netbackup Master Version - 7.5.0.7
Client Master Version - 7.5.0.1
Issue 1 : Database logs backups are runing fine but full database backups are not working. Full keeps runing fails.
Issue 2 : Backup failed at veritas end but SQL Job keeps runing in hung state. We need forcibly stopped the SQL Agent Backup job each time.
Things we tried :-
1) Port are checked
2) Access for veritas netbackup account at OS & SQL Server
3) Antivirus exclusion for netbackup process
Please suggest.

Current Backup exec does not support GRT onVirtual Machine Backups of Windows Server 2012 volumes with Windows deduplication enabled. Although virtual machine backups are the desired type of backup, GRT is not supported.

BE2014 SBS - License Count Client OS as Server
I need a solution
Hello,
Using BE2014 SBS Edition on a SBS2011.
We are getting the "Warning" that we are Backing Up more Servers than we have Licenses for...
In the MouseOver the "Servers" are Listed and one of them is a Client. (Windows 7 OS).
(But it is running on a HyperV System like the SBS2011).
Is that a Bug or is there a way we can change this?

About Retention in Storage Lifecycle Policies

I'm new to this community, I'm hoping if anyone could help me with this case:
Currently in our environment, we have two netbackups master server in two different location, each server also have 1 media server installed and also attached with Quantum Disk in each site, all of them are installed under Windows 2008 R2 x64
Here's the setup,
DC1 :
Master-Server-A
IBM Tape Library A, with 3 LTO 5 Tape Drives
Quantum VTL A
Media-Server-A
IBM Tape Library A, with 3 LTO 5 Tape Drives (Shared with Master Server)
Quantum OST Diskpool A
DC2 :
Master-Server-B
IBM Tape Library B, with 3 LTO 5 Tape Drives
Quantum VTL B
Media-Server-B
IBM Tape Library B, with 3 LTO 5 Tape Drives (Shared with Master Server)
Quantum OST Diskpool B
I configured two SLPs in two sites, like this:
- in DC1 I create SLP_A , first job is to backup to OST Disk with infinity retention, second job is replication to DC2 OST Disk with 1 year retention
- in DC2 I create SLP_B , first job is import with target retention, second job is duplicate to tape with retention infinity
The Question is, when I checked the duplication result via restore job, it looks like the expired time is only 1 year, that means the retention is following the replication job in the first SLP, not infinity retention as I configured on the second SLP
What should I do so that the duplicated imported image will apply the infinity retention?

We have the following:-
BE 2014 on MS Windows 2008R2 STD.
VMware VSphare 5.1 and vCenter 5.1
Now, there is a VM which we want to take file/folder backup as a physical server.
I have installed the agent in the server.
When I am going to select the drives for backup ....There is no drive shown to select..rather all the shared drives are shown...
Troublshooting further I have done the following:-
1. Changed the IP access for cleint access to "Dynamic".
2. Changed the "independent disk" option in the VM setting.
3. enabled the "trust " ..
4. Reinstalled the agent..
All in ...
no used..
Please, help me to troublshoot this issue..
or
Is I am missing some thing...
Just to add there is a IBM Fastback is running in this server.

Request to share technical information for below queries which I has to share the same with the client,
1. Master is shared with SSO option . Around 3 different account using same Master server . What if a shared Tape drive(SSO) is deleted from one environment . Is the same applicable for deleting the robotic as well (robotic control host)
2. Need to configure SLP - Total 3 copies to be configrued . 1st copy to Disk ,2nd Copy to Tape & 3rd copy to Tape(increased retention ).
a) 1st Copy fails ,what happens to 2nd copy & 3rd Copy
b) 1st copy success,2nd copy fails ,what happens to 3rd copy
3. To scan tape drives in different OS ,below are the coomands,
solaris - sgscan
ux-Aix - prtconf
linux - lsdev -l
Windows - scan
HPUX - ioscan -f
Is my understanding correct .If not pls correct the wrong one's
4 . Yesterday , in my master server all jobs suddenly started failing with error code 2059 for multiple different environments i.e.,different media servers . Issue was fixed however vendor unable to confirm why the issue occured . And vendor gave very generic reasons . Someone have changed\tried to to changes of Robot or Drive at Hardware Level(OS) or at NetBackup level . Though Issue is fixed ,I need to provide Root Cause . Not sure which specific logs or events to be investigated .
My Master Version - Linux Red Hat ,7.5.0.6 v & around 6 media servers with Unix,Aix falvours with same NetBackup version as that of Master . No Windows Media server
