Older Veritas Tapes - Will BE 2014 Read Them?

I'm working on a project for a client who has a win 2003 server. For lots of really unbelievable reasons, my client needs to restore data from a tape, but the client only knows that the backup program used then was Veritas Backup Exec. 

My question - providing the tapes are still good, the hardware is still good, what are the chances that BE 2014 will be able to read the tapes?
