I need a solution

Hi,

my BE 2014 SP2 is failing with the following error while backing up a virtual machine:

V-79-57344-3844 - The Backup Exec server could not connect to the remote computer. Ensure that a Backup Exec agent is installed and running on the remote computer. If a Backup Exec agent is installed, ensure that it is the correct version.

Remote Agent not detected on \\BACKUP.

In the BE server Windows event viewer i see the service failing:

Faulting application name: beremote.exe, version: 14.1.1786.1093, time stamp: 0x5487af63

Faulting module name: gvmomi.dll, version: 4.0.0.7050, time stamp: 0x52834fec

Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fault offset: 0x0000000000008a4c

Faulting process id: 0x10b4

Faulting application start time: 0x01d028fd0586d93f

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\beremote.exe

Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\VMware\VixDiskLib\bin\gvmomi.dll

Report Id: 660378c0-94fd-11e4-92a5-009c029a8fba

This is happening all the time.

I've seen that there are a few technotes addressing this issue:

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH217161

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH216011

although it is not mentioned for BE 2014 SP2.

Whole server as well as it's agents are at the latest patch level.

Did anyone come across this issue?

Regards,

Jana
