I've configured a SQL Server Recovery VM policy in Netbackup 7.5 but it fails every time on the Application State Capture step:

Could someone advise how to troubleshoot this? Not having much luck with online support docs.
This is Netbackup 7.5.0.6 with master and VM Proxy media server on Win2008 R2, client is Win2003 R2 x64. Data Domain storage over the network.
I successfully set this up on a dev server on an ESX 5.0.0. farm with a VCenter server, but the ESX environment I'm getting a problem on here is an ESX 5.1.0 single host. Added as ESX host in the Master under Credentials\Virtual Machine Servers.
I installed the Symantec VSS Writer onto the client from 'goodies' in the 7.6.0.6 Netbackup client.
I am using automatic query selection in the policy and the test function works ok.
The existing 'classic' SQL backup of this server using the ordinary Netbackup SQL client works fine, but is 1.8tb of data over the network, which takes 8 hours. If I use SQL Server Recovery data will go across the fibre to the VMWare proxy Netbackup media server then be deduped and sent over the network to Data Domain - much more efficient.
