OpsCenter (7.x) uses a 90 day collection window for determining capacity for the Capacity Licensing Report. The default for the underlying nbdeployutil is 30 days, but can be adjusted by using the --hours ago or -start and --end dates arguments. There is no such capability in OpsCenter. Symantec is pushing capacity licensing (to which my organization subscribes) and the OpsCenter Capacity Report is the tool by which capacity licensing is determined. However, capacity licensing is determined by the largest backup per client in the last 30 days, not the last 90 days. This 90 day default "feature" leads to inaccurate licensing reports.
In a large environment, it is extremely manpower intensive to log onto each master server to run nbdeployutil on each and to then have to complete all of the file transfers. OpsCenter is Symantec's enterprise tool for NetBackup environments and should be the tool used for collecting this data - not made useless due to no flexibility in this area.
Request a capability be added to the OpsCenter Capacity Reports page that allow the customer to determine the number of days to be collected and reported on.
