Restore from different tapes

Hi,

For my situation (example):

Full backup - tape 1 in slot 7 (26 Jan2014)

Diffiential backup - tape 2 in slot 3 (27 Jan - 1 Feb 2014)

If I want to restore data of 29 Jan 2014, do I need to put tape 1 into slot 7 and tape 2 into slot 3 then run restore ??

Or just put the full backup tape and diffiential backup tape into any empty slot then run restore ??
